well, for a karma counter balance of sorts: i had a big pile of yard waste in my drive way for a few weeks. the guy finally came to take it away this morning.
of course, some little critters had made themselves a home under it all. so, when it was gone, they came into my home.
this afternoon, my 8yo said, "mom, there's someone trapped in a bin in the studio." sure enough, a vole(?) had somehow gotten into one with steep sides and couldn't get out. i scooched it to the front door, tipped it over, and out s/he crawled, straight under some leaves.

I think that hawk is trying to impress you. If it was a cat, it would be bringing you dead mice.
