There is a theorem in geometry that states: Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent. Last winter, one of the geometry teachers at our school offhandedly asked me if I could come up with a mnemonic for remembering the letters in that statement to present to her students. Oh boy. Once I get started on something of that nature, I find it very difficult to stop. I came up with a list of about 40 of them, over the course of several hours of being unable to concentrate on much else. The following are some of my faves (not all of them are ones I submitted for the students to use, although I bet some of the controversial ones would be most effective). Already I'm starting to get back in the mode and am kicking around "Cello players" and "Crazy people" I invite you all to use the comments to share some of your own. It sure would be a lot easier to say "equal parts of equal triangles are equal" or even better " equal things are equal"
