The Still Kicking Rockumentary

I've just looked over my stats for the Rockumentary here. I was trying to confirm, hoping I'd fail, my suspicions that readership has been in decline. Turns out, I was right. It is.

Over the last couple of years, it's been a steady downward slope. I can think of a few reasons.

The first and most obvious is that we just haven't been updating it as much as we used to. Remember when there used to be conversations here amongst the band? I do.

The second is that the content has been declining in quality. I feel like a lot of my entries lately have just been gig announcements.

Thirdly, we haven't been very active in the gigging and promotions world. Our name isn't on the tip of the tongue of every single man, woman, and child on the planet..like it used to be.

Fourth. Web surfers have got more options now. When we started this blog, it was still a fairly novel thing. There was no myspace etc. Now, there is too much to choose from.

(Excuse me. I don't mean to interrupt but I thought you should know that WRSI is currently playing a song from Flight of the Conchords.)

(Really?!)

(Yes.)

(That's weird.)

(I know.)

Fifth. People are so fed up with reading that they aren't bothering even coming here. With the constant onslaught of mind-bogglingly depressing news out there, who's got time to do anything but shake their heads and sulk?

What will I do to bring back our readership? Start writing more? I'd love to. What's the hold up? I don't know.

We are all too busy. And I mean ALL of us. You too, dear reader. You too.

I check this blog out daily, hoping there will be something new to read. I don't check it less, nor do I check it more than @ 4 years ago. I wish you would write more. I like your writing, Henning. Do more of those "how to" and "answer difficult questions" posts. Your answer for "how to forget about someone you love" question didn't really help, but it was a nice read. Do a part 2: "So, you're still not over Mr. Wrong" I'm interested.
