Hep me

Anybody know what the song is that's playing in a recent AT&T commercial? It sounds kinda 80s-ey and only the instrumental bit (prominent bass, guitar & drums) plays, then it switches to another song at the end, which I know is Oasis but I'm trying to find out the one that plays for most of the ad.

I tried to look it up for you: but which commercial is it? There's a new one that features Mates of State but it shows them on stage playing - that's not it right? Because that's just organ and drums.

I don't think it would be them- it has a Britpop 80s sound to it, sorta like Echo & The Bunnymen or The Cure but I don't know those bands and that era/genre that well. Sounds great whatever it is. Whenever I look it up on the internet, all I get is the Oasis song that the ad ends with.

i believe that it's called "All Around The World" from their record Be Here Now

There are two songs in the ad- the one I'm trying to find out about plays through most of it and then the Oasis song "All Around the World" comes on at the tail end of the ad. Does anyone know what the first one is?

I found it. It's "Age of Consent" by New Order. When I was searching for band names to come up with, I mentioned Echo & Bunnymen and The Cure but I was thinking it sounds like that band that does "Love Will Tear Us Apart" but I couldn't come up with the name of the band at the time. Indeed that's who it was.
