School for the Dead Letter Office

If you didn't just get the following newsletter in your email inbox, you are not on our mailing list. Just so's you know.

Hello,

Happy Holidays from School for the Dead!

You know, they say that the shortest day of the year is December 21st but I betcha that, to me, tomorrow is gonna seem way shorter. Why? Well, because I have this crazy show that I am playing.

Tomorrow night (Friday, December 16) at 7:00, I'll be hopping up on the stage of the Iron Horse, in Northampton, MA, to play my opening set for one of my all-time most favorite musicians, Jane Siberry (http://www.janesiberry.com). I've been listening, and I mean listening, to Jane since about 1987, almost 20 years, so it's pretty cool to be on the same bill as her. She's even borrowing my guitar for the show.

So, yeah, I know. It's short notice. But, if you feel like coming out to a great show, and Jane Siberry really is an excellent performer, the doors open at, I think, around 5:30 and tickets are available here: http://www.nbotickets.com. They're $20 in advance and $23 at the door.

Hope you can make it.

But wait, there's more! I'm thrilled to announce that School for the Dead, the full five piece band is actually playing a show! I think it's been more than a year since we played with our full line-up and it's been six months since we've played any type of band show in our hometown.

On Friday, December 30th we'll be at The Elevens here in Northampton. (http://www.elevensmusic.com) and check out this line-up that we've put together for you:

1. Bourgeois Heroes (Our fellow Rub Wrongways recording artists are returning from Austin for this special rare performance)
2. School for the Dead (With Max back on bass, he'll practice by singing his bass lines to sooth his new baby to sleep)
3. Mark Mulcahy (One of our faves, with Kevin O'Rourke, Ken Maiuri, and Dave Trenholm. Brian and I will even be joing the ensemble for a few songs.

What a night! We'll countdown to New Year's Eve at midnight. It all starts at 10:00. We'd love it so much if you could make it out and kicked off your New Year's Weekend with us. Come on up and say "hi".

Ok, I've taken enough of your time. Was this email too wordy? I just get excited, sorry. Thanks everyone, for all your support throughout the year. Happy Holidays. Happy end-of-the-year.
