Irony

Irony here that Shelly pointed out- During our holiday on Monday (hint- 4th of July, aka Independence Day), I polished off an Agatha Christie mystery novel in the morning, Shelly and I watched some more of "The Office" on DVD while Hannah napped in the afternoon and finally, on our way to see the fireworks in Amherst, we listened to The Beatles' "Rubber Soul" in the truck.Subconsciously, we are some lousy patriots. We only realized this last night while we were drinking tea.

Another revelation- whenever I read Hannah her "How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?" book, I have her repeat some of the names of the dinosaurs on the inner panels. "Hannah, can you say Allosaurus?" "Allosaurus." "How about Pteranodon?" "Pter... anodon." "Can you say Stegosaurus?" "Stegosaurus." "Brontosaurus?" "Bron... tosaurus." "Triceratops?" "Ceratops." "Almost! Triceratops." "Ceratops." "Almost got it! Triceratops." "Ceratops!" I swear it took me four times to figure out what was happening- doubt I'll be winning any Teacher of The Year awards too soon.
