To anyone with my taste in music, I recommend NOT getting the new Rolling Stone Record Guide. Now I know in todays world, bands like The Monkees and XTC are seen as nerdy, non-threatening and irelevant...but each Monkees album gets 1.5 stars and the average XTC rating is 2.5. I say to the editors, you're bringing too much sociology and "will digging this band get me laid" into your ratings. Damn you.
