Nice work tonight, Henning. After our duo practice, I realized that Henning and I have been playing together for over eight years. We rehearsed about 12 songs tonight and none of them sounded awful but as soon as each was complete, we both were in complete agreement whether it was one of the keepers to play as a duo or not. And we even had the same reasons why. (Not bassy enough... too loose without drums keping time...) We sometimes even would stop a song at the same point and say, "That one sounds good enough." Another time, Henning asked me mid-song to turn off my reverb. A split-second before he asked, I had already switched it off. After our rehearsal, he played me a nearly complete song on his computer that he had recorded recently. I listened to it and said, "That's good- can I suggest you add something background once the second verse starts?" Henning says he was planning to do that very task once our rehearsal was over.
It just happens- it's called marriage. Happy anniversary, honey.
