Ok. That's enough. We're a music band. I'm gonna talk about music.

Last night we had a band practice. It was the first one in a long time. Maybe even in a month. Tony, Brian, and I were there and sitting in Max's seat was Kevin O'Rourke. Kevin is not becoming a member of School for the Dead, he is just filling in for this International Pop Overthrow concert tomorrow night.

He did an excellent job. Kevin's got a great ear and a musical mind. I was most impressed with how quickly he seemed to pick up these quirky songs. Learn more about Kevin at lofine.com, the official website of his amazing band Lo Fine. Their music is decidedly different than that of School for the Dead, but a reliance on lyrics and melody binds us together. Perhaps, he will even delite us by singing some harmonies tomorrow night. He's got a voice that'll kill ya.

Tony was back in da house. It had been a long, long time. He was wearing a tie, for god's sake, and told us a story or two about the highschool that he is currently working in (the kids overwhelmingly supported Kerry in a mock vote). He hadn't forgotten how to play guitar, though. He was all over the place.

But, earlier, on the phone, Tony, informed me about how incredibly busy his life has become with school, work, and family. He said so far it's been ok with the band, since we haven't been playing much, but the signal I was getting was that he wouldn't be able to make it to as many events as he had in the past. My goal, after all, is to play more.

I'm not sure where the future of School for the Dead lies. All futures seem up in the air all of a sudden, don't they?

It's certainly time for me to start booking shows. I'll probably have to start leaning towards solo gigs, though, since we have no bassist and half a guitarist. Maybe Brian and I can become a duo? I don't know. What do you think, Brian?

Brian's pretty busy, too, though. It's ok. I like solo shows. I think that even when I do solo shows, I will call myself School for the Dead. Would that be ok with everyone?

I hate booking shows. Anybody wanna book shows for me? 20% goes to the booker, ya know...
