Come ON, Lads!!!! Didn't boss Ning say he'd be checking up on our progress whilst on vacation?
Off the subject of SFTD for a moment, I brought back a few great mementos from No. Adams. One is the Polaris album. Polaris=Miracle Legion's psudonym on TV's Pete and Pete. Previously, one could only get 4 Polaris songs if you sent away for a cassette from Kellogs cereals in 1994. I did, and I passed the tape on to Ken and forgot to ever ask for it back. Or I said he could have it or something.
But Mezzotint put out the full Polaris LP and it's great. Total early 90's jangle pop at its best.
Scored another neat souvenier, but I think of the rest of the SFTD clan, only Max would be interested in it.
Back to other matters.
--I put all the Chain CD recipients on an Excel file and emailed it to Ning.
--Did you know SFTD was mentioned twice in the Kayrol Island program? Ken and I each wrote our own bios and both mentioned it.
--I believe my solo album requires just one more full day of recording bits and pieces. A full day, though. Or 2 half days. I made a list of what's needed and also emailed that to Henning. I gotta make dates with the 3 guest stars who agreed to be on it: Messers Tull, Freudmann and Trenholm. Unless after hearing the songs they all back out.
I got Fuzzy Warbles Vol 2 in the mail. Hmm. Perhaps in the midst of such a harsh winter, Andy Partridge's outtakes and demos aren't what the doctor ordered. I'm appreciating it, but not exactly digging it. I'll bring it to the next SFTD practice, see who wants to borrow it. Maybe I should have gotten vol 1, since it includes his apprently perfect imitations of Morrissey and Robert Smith.
Here's me as a disgruntled old man, putting a spin on Henning's vacation: "All that Florida sun is just gonna make the rest of the winter harder when he gets back. You gotta get thick skinned, I tell ya!"
