My apologies, gentle readers at my recent lack of posts. My only excuse is a lack of inspiration. My only excuse for lacking inspiration is that my crazy vestibular system is acting up again. Much of my energy goes into intensely concentrating on not turning my head too quickly or looking in the wrong direction. All this concentrating on what would normally be automatic motions leaves me in an almost constant state of tiredness.
I'm doing my best to not become an agoraphobe. Even though the comfort of my golden sofa and my four solid walls is appealing, I'm doing my best to not coccoon myself away.
Tonight, for instance, we'll be going to the great big Haunt CD Release show at The Iron Horse. I'm excited to hear them in this great sounding room. Also, very excited to see Jose Ayerve and Anne Pinkerton play before Haunt. My goal is to not be seated on the low floor. If I can find a place to perch where my head doesn't need to be tilted, the table doesn't move, and no arrant lights are shining into the corners of my eyes, I'll be happy.
And tomorrow, I'll not only be doing some digital piano shopping, I'll be playing a brief set with The Aloha Steamtrain at a private crazy party.
And Sunday, I'll be driving across the state to the old hometown for some easter egg hunting.
See? I'm not locking myself in. Although, wouldn't that be nice? No. Get out of the house. Ok.
Speaking of the house, our backyard is now one tree less treed. Unfortunately, our beautifully placed and sculpted Mountain Ash was also beautifully dead and covered with beautiful mold and moss and woodpecker holes. The tree is now gone. Or most of it is. Some of its bones still litter the now seemingly much larger yard. Look out! This summer we'll have room for simultaneous games of Jarts, bocci, and crochet. Careful. Jarts.
But wouldn't a pool fit in that spot perfectly. Yes it would. Can I have thousands of dollars?
What about the music? Yes, the music continues. I'm in a fairly productive song-writing phase, actually. Ideas are gelling. Words are fitting in between other words.
Brian and I are very close to completing the new Sitting Next To Brian album. We've even got a full day of mixing and stuff scheduled. Yes. A full day. Thank you, Patriot's Day. And that might do it, really. That might be the end of this awesome hard to categorize album. But aren't all of our Rub Wrongways productions hard to categorize? Can you categorize them? I can't.

Would pool-side activities help your vestibular maladies? Perhaps a fund-raising rock show is in order..."Help Henning Have His Health-Rock for a Reason"
