It was a while ago now that the latest Robyn Hitchcock album "Ole Tarantula" came out. I listened to it a few times on Rhapsody and while I liked it ok, I didn't really think much of it. Thanks to Brian, I have a cd version of it now and I've been listening to it in the headphones during my daily commute (It's ok. I'm a walker).I really like it now. It's got a nice mid-school Hitchcock feeling to it. Like what? Maybe Fegmania? Now, I'm looking even more forward to the show this Thursday at The Iron Horse. Last time I saw Robyn play, I had the pleasure of being the opening act. This time I'm not, but the bonus is that his band The Venus Three is playing with him and one of the members of that is Peter Buck (R.E.M.). Has anyone influenced my guitar playing more than Peter Buck? I don't know. Maybe not.
It'll be nice to see him play on such a little stage.
