I'd like to induct the following rhymes into the lyric hall of fame.
They've served their purpose in countless classic songs, and will now be enshrined behind secure glass cases so that no one can bother them. Ever again.
Except, say Dylan, who's exempt.
Fire, desire
Burning, yearning
dance, chance, romance
pretty, pity, city
and more than one use of the word "angel"
and Paul Mccartney has dibs on "play the fool".
There will be another ceremony in the coming months.

Oh, stop it, you're scaring me!
If you take away blue/you/new/too/grew/true I'm sunk.
i think there should be an honorable mention for the phrase / concept of "catch me if i fall" or the question, "if i fall, will you catch me?" -- i'm having a hard time deciding if REM's "texarkana" is exempt. actually, yes it is, and here's why: i downloaded that song from iTunes in the actual town of Texarkana, Arkansas, in a La Quinta at 3 in the morning. that's a pretty good story actually. wow, go me.
