Has any one else seen this movie, "Children of Men"? Man, I feel like I'm in on some kind of global secret. Lesa and I went to see it last weekend based on a cool looking preview, the fact that it was directed by Alfonso CuarĂ³n (Y Tu Mama Tambien), and that it got an 8.1 out of 10 on metacritic.com.
I'm so glad we did. It's an incredible movie. I don't know why there isn't more talk about it. Or maybe there is and I am somehow missing it. Does it have a bad publicity team? Is it because it takes place in England and not the U.S.? Is it because it doesn't have any huge huge stars? I mean Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, and Michael Caine are no slouches but they ain't Ben Stiller.
I can't figure it out, it's kind of a huge movie, seems like more people should be talking about it. Anyway, I recommend it...unless you are looking for a walk in the park kind of movie...this one's no walk in the park.

Your post was the first I'd heard of it. And then I read a short, positive review of it in Rolling Stone (the one with James Brown on the cover). Sounds like a film well worth seeing. Then again, I'm also itching to see the new Ben Stiller one about the night museum guard. Proving once again that I am partly intellectual but mostly idiot.
