SNTB

I'd like to thank folks for coming out to the Sitting Next to Brian show this past Saturday at the Basement.
Logic would say "it was packed because of the blackout, and there was no other venue with lights that night".
But one COULD counter with what I've heard from a couple people, which is "I didn't go because my lights were out and I assumed they were at the Basement too", or "I took a nap and woke up and the lights were out and it was 2:30 am".

Either way, what a crowd. I'm still learning the ins and outs of front-persondom, and sometimes fantasize that I could let loose with a Roger Daltry scream. But I'm me, damnit.

A couple women with hard-to-spell names and accents bought CDs and had me autograph 'em. Right there is encouragement enough to keep doing the solo thing. Ta ha. Toe ho.

Rick, Henning and Ken really stepped up and played to my weird-ass specificities and threw in touches of their personal genius.

The new album, "Now I'm Drawing a Blank" should be finished by year's end and is sounding beautifully organic. It's not like the first one so much. Fewer guest stars and more or less a similar flavor throughout. I think people could genuinely like it.

Now I'm depressed. My once-vaunted 12-strings parts are not to be.

Oh well, such are the vagaries of rock n roll.

I bet the CD is going to be great, even without the reverb-soaked Echo-and-The Bunnymen- 12-string parts

(Or maybe they're there guided by different hands...hmmm.

Anyway, i can't wait to hear it.
I loved the first SNTB!
