New Music for the New Season

This week I am delving into two new pre-releases of albums by two of my favorite musical acts.

In my portable disc player which accompanies my daily constitutionals is the new Figments record "Blood on the Clouds". I've listened to the whole thing once so far and I gotta say, so far so good. Finally, "American Trash" has been recorded. That song should be everywhere right now. The album itself seems to be coming around at the perfect time. It feels very autumny to me. It's wearing a windjacket.

In my speakers at home is the new Robyn Hitchcock album, "Ole, Rocketship!'. Upon first sonic glance it seems to harken back to the days of his old band the Egyptians, even though the Egyptians aren't on this recording. I think I'm gonna dig it.

What are you listening to?
