Don't you hate how the image of Calvin (of ..and Hobbes) has been co-opted by guys driving pick up trucks who have Calvin pissing on a Ford logo (if the truck is Chevy) and vice-versa? Poor Calvin. I wondered if the artist could sue ,but then I recalled an interview with Mike Judge who said he wasn't angry about not owning the images of Bevis and Butthead, because most huge comic strip artists sold away the rights to their images in order to open more doors.
At least you don't see Linus smoking crack or anything.

I don't remember where or when I read this, for all I know I dreamed it, but somewhere in my brain exists that knowledge that the Calvin & Hobbes creator is actually quite furious with his characters being used and associated in such manners. I think it was more the stoner paraphernalia that annoyed him more and he spends/spent a lot of time and money trying to correct this.
Again. Might have dreamt this.
