Robert Burke published a nice interview with me about "The New You" and the band on Blogcritics. Here's a snippet of it. This is his introduction:
"I recently discovered what I believe is the best independent release of 2005. And I'm a hard guy to impress. The band is School for the Dead and the album is called "The New You". There's been a lot of hype about Clap Your Hands Say Yeah this year, but School For The Dead is better. This band is not just regurgitating the hot new sound of the moment. The New You has brought a huge smile to my face with it's wonderful pop sensibility, clean, straight-forward production and painterly lyrics. When I found out it was an independent effort I was seriously impressed. You can listen to the album on Rhapsody here."You can read the rest of the article here: Blogcritics Interview Link. Also, check out the cool Amazon rollover effect if you put your cursor on top of the album cover. I need to figure out how to do something like that for Rub Wrongways.

Hey Henning. Up at five a.m. feeling sorry for myself. So: Turn on the computer! I read your interview (and was happy to discover that you named REM in your long list of mystical bands, and I had named them in mine, too). Anyway, since I was online, I went to your songwriting post that you mentioned in the interview. And I have to say that I admire your abilities. You're funny and articulate, and it's helpful to read such a clear description of one song's process. I've been trying very hard to write some songs and I am completely stuck. Of course, if I spent less time online, well...
So, don't be annoyed, but reading along with you, I was following your train and this is what came out for me at the end (I don't know this song, so I don't know if it ends the way you posted it, but here's my last verse):
I had a flash of perfection
But it couldn't last
So it's in my collection
Black and White from the past
I've got a lot to learn from that girl
