Eye on Northampton

As I shuffled through the biting cold wet air on Masonic Street this morning, to retrieve my daily bagel, I thought that I heard the sounds of construction. But, when I arrived at the parking lot just before the Woodstar Cafe, I saw that the sounds that I heard were actually the sounds of DEstruction.

There on the far end of the parking lot (towards State Street) was a huge gap and a clear view of the giant church on Elm Street. Inside this huge gap, a giant mantis shaped vehicle was eating the remains of the Fly-By-Night warehouse. Dust was forming in clouds. Bricks were being chewed up and spat out into a truck. At one point the enormous claw of the demolition beast slammed down on the end of a 20 foot long beam of wood. The beam flew into the air and flipped around a few times before coming crashing down on the debris.

It was pretty cool.
