Going through my email inbox, I found a message I hadn't replied to. It was from Brian but the responses are actually for the Drakes.

Earlier this summer, we camped out in Lake George. I can't remember the name of the campground but it was in Lake George Village. The signs for Lake George Village look like this: "Lake George Vil" so if you look quickly, it's almost like George VII. British monarchy only goes as far as George VI, of course, so that's pretty funny. Not funny like ha-ha but funny as in not really funny. Anyway, with a three year-old on board, we spent a day at Magic Forest amusement park, played some mini-golf, whiled away one entire day at the beach near our campsite. Twice when it was raining we visited arcades, where we found Hannah has an affinity and not a small talent (for a 3 1/2 year old) for air hockey. Shelly's family used to vacation in Lake George for a week every summer with her grandparents so she was eager to revisit certain restaurants (Grandma's Back Porch) and places (Magic Forest) that were sentimental favorites. To be honest, most of it was a blur to me, as I was decompressing from school and nodding off frequently at the campsite, going to bed early, waking up late, napping with Hannah in the afternoon. Those of you who went on tour with me know that I have the talent to behave like a cat when I have the opportunity. All I do is sleep, eat, swipe at bits of string, land on my feet, and cough up hairballs. Meow.

Brian's email also mentioned that Mrs. Drake enjoys reading my nascent educator posts. The final chapter in the guidebook I penned for next year's student teachers is the centerpiece of the publication. It's long and doesn't specifically address school policies or rules but it's the one thing that, if they read it, I hope they take to heart.

I can't seem to cut and paste it here so let me post this part and then try some methods of flying it here.
