My first thought upon waking was that it was a Fisher Cat. Someone recently spotted one of these crazy animals in Northampton. Fisher Cats... these jerks make a sound like an injured bird and then when a regular old kitty-cat comes to investigates, the Fisher pounces. I don't know what they do then, I guess they give the kitty-cat a noogie or something.

Anyway, I had been reading this stuff about the Fisher Cat yesterday, so when I woke up to the blood-curdling screams of our backyard wolverines, my initial thoughts, of course, turned that way. But that wasn't it. These sounds certainly were that of a raccoon and a skunk torturing a bunny-rabbit in front of a 10,000 watt public address system's microphone.
Nature...

I bet it was a couple of regular cats fighting/mating/talking. They can emit the most otherworldly sounds (super loud, too) when doing those things.
Philip's mom's weird friend found a dead fisher-cat and became very attached to it. He secretly stored it in the freezer chest where he was currently crashing, and when the woman who owned the house opened the chest and saw it, she reared up so fast she almost knocked herself unconscious.
