Well, the comments thing seems to be working well enough. It's getting kind of meta, what with people commenting about commenting. But that's cool. I've always liked meta.
What's new in the world of SFTD? I think we have an in-studio radio performance/interview in Chicago on April 22, the night before our show in the International Pop Overthrow. Also, I have a solo show coming up at Bishop's Lounge in Northampton, MA on the 19th. I'm working on getting us a show at Shakago's in Springfield. Or more accurately, Mike, from Space Captain is working on getting us a show there.
In the meantime, we've begun recording a new Fawns album. Brian and I have been rehearsing as members of the Mike Flood band. Brian is playing some shows with Mark Mulcahy (including a huge cd release celebration at Bishop's Lounge on April 12.) And Ken is coming back to the area for a couple months. We'll try to book some shows with him playing if he's up for it - which he usually is.

I'd like to comment on Henning's commenting about people commenting on comments.
Ok I won't.
But I will comment on the tag line above:
"Everything is working out exactly how everybody had hoped it would."
Is it? Maybe it's just me: Maybe I've been hoping incorrectly. Is there a hope class I could take? I'm doing OK on the love thing, and I have faith, but that hope is a slippery eel.
I'd hope to get better at it (hoping), but that would be even more meta than the comments below.
In Ancient Roman times, "meta" was a word meaning the points where chariots turned in races (e.g., the first turn was the "meta prima," turn two, the "meta secunda," etc.). Meta went on to have a general meaning of "about" in the informational sense. But I've often wondered if it also went down another etymological path, entering the sailing/yacht-racing world, because a turn (change of direction) in sailing is called "coming about." As it would have been in chariot races.
when/where are the Mike Flood gigs? his songs are so cool.."old lady in your crown victoria, we have to go around this rotary as friends you know.." as someone who goes on a rotary sometimes more than twice a day i live that reality!
