It's been an allright autumn, all things considered. People are emerging from post-election blues. I'm going to turn 32 in a couple weeks. 32 is the new 23.
Do you think anyone wants to read a book that chronicles, mainly through one active musician's eyes, but as comprehensive as possible, the Northampton pop/rock scene from 1993-2003?
Not dealing in IHEG or any money-making scene. Just sorta the underground, never-makes-any-money-but-writes-great-songs-and-just-wants-to-rock band scene. The scene that probably has as many interesting stories as LA in the 60's or NYC in the 70's (but fewer celebrity names). I guess Ray Mason would be the patron saint of the whole story. Don't you agree it needs to be documented, that it was a golden era of sorts? I'll do it. (and I'm not saying any golden age is necessarily over, what with amazing local CDs still coming out, but you want a neat 10 year period, right?)
Do you think anyone would want to pay to put out that book? Who? I have a 10 chapter outline written up. Come on people, I need an advance here, this book ain't writing itself.
On a related note, Mike Ruffino's book is out! And that's a cat of a different whisker.
