So yes, I'm back from my vacation. It's 30 degrees colder here than where I have been but it's pretty nice. The leaves have changed. There are apples and pumpkins and all that stuff. Hoorah.
I spent a week and a half away from the internet and my phone (sort of). When I got to the house I checked my voice mail, there were only three messages. All of them were from Jen S. at MTV. I called her back and she said that MTV was using one of our songs on Made and she needed to know my publishing affiliation (ASCAP) and who owned the rights to the music (Santa Claus). I told her.
I don't know what song they are using or in what context. My guess is that they will be playing a teeny snippet of one of the instrumental bits of one of the Chain CD songs. I'm leaning towards the intro to Everybody Loves Martha even though the obvious choice seems to be Omnivore. I'm fighting the odds. Either way, it's not going to be featured or anything. I think it will be incidental.
Anyway, I'll be watching to see. Of course, the debate is also happening, right? When is that? And the Red Sox vs. Yankees. Sheesh, what is it? Sweeps week? Anyway, it's kind of cool to have School for the Dead on MTV, even though I have been hugely let down by that station since the early mid-eighties when it was so much better. It's a pretty good thing to add to our bio, too, right?
"As heard on MTV."
So, I don't know. It might NOT be worth your while to tune in at 10:00 PM on MTV for that (although Made is actually a pretty good show). If you do, you could make it a Where's Waldo kind of game while listening intently for our music. If you don't, don't worry, I'll let you know what happens.
