Kristin Beam has a nice little write up about it at Sound Check.
The story is that for next weekend starting on Friday and ending on Tuesday, the Academy of arts will have two different rock and roll movies each night. Bob Cilman, The Northampton Arts Council director, gave me a couple of posters for it but I don't have them here to check for the movies and times. Instead, here is the listing info as I found it at Masslive.com:
This rocktastic event features five evenings of the best rock and roll films ever made. The Academy screens two films per night; classics like "This is Spinal Tap," "Tommy" and "Stop Making Sense" along with some rarely shown gems like DA Pennebaker's "Don’t Look Back," featuring a very young Bob Dylan and Monterey Pop with electrifying performances by Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Otis Redding. A Limitless Pass (LP) for all 10 films is available, in advance, for $30; an Evening Pass (EP) for $10 for 2 films per night and the Single film ticket price is $7. Limitless Passes are available in advance at Turn it Up! Records in Northampton, For the Record in Amherst and The Academy of Music Theatre. The evening pass and single film tickets areavailable at the Academy of Music Box Office the night of the films.
I might go see some of them, I think there are a few that I haven't yet. I also like to try and support stuff like this when it happens. Cause I want stuff like this to happen. See you there?
