This is from Andrea Kremer, curator of the Boston Pop Underground:
My official rebuttal to Max's post, which you are more than welcome to
paste into the Living Rockumentary:
- Jules Verdone is a particular favorite of mine and was, in fact, one of
the very first artists I invited to play in the series. Unfortunately she
had to decline, her schedule is pretty tight. But I know she's working on
new material, so I'll keep trying and perhaps we can get the timing right.
- You may or may not have heard this, but Jen Trynin is playing in an
amazing new band called Loveless. http://www.lvls.com/. Rather than being
out front this time, she's the lead guitar/backup vox alongside frontman
Dave Wanamaker. I've invited Loveless to appear, as well as Jen herself.
Nothing scheduled yet, as she's currently hard at work finishing her first
novel, but again -- I'll keep trying.
- Kay Hanley (former frontwoman of Letters to Cleo) has moved to
California, but she does come back home fairly often. When she does, you
can usually find me working her merch table. I will definitely approach
her about playing and we'll see if we can set someting up the next time
she comes through.
- Hatfield: I'd love to have her appear. Seems unlikely, somehow, but I
might have a few tricks up my sleeve. I'll give it a shot.
- And allow me to introduce you to a hot new female-fronted Boston-based
pop band: the So & Sos, featuring singer/songwriter and guitar powerhouse
Meg Toohey. http://www.soandsos.com/. Working on getting them onto a bill
as well.
So there.
