Well, last night was the last open mic at Harry's. I wasn't sure if anybody was going to come out special just because of that or not. It seems a small contingency of friends did. Nobody was really ther euntil 10:30 and I didn' t start until 11:00. It just seemed that everyone was perfectly content to just be hanging out while Philip Price and Dennis Crommett's albums played over the sound system.
Eventually familar faces came in. I played to a seemingly disinterested crowd, the roar of gaming from the pool room almost overpowering me. Philip played some nice songs and I sang harmonies with him on a Teenage Fanclub song and on his own Summer Girl. Ed O'Connell played a few songs which is great because I know it is not easy for him to get up in front of a crowd and he really wanted to take advantage of this last chance. Brocktune played without a CD, just an acoustic guitar and it was really good. Then Patty H. played a bunch of songs followed by Connolly. That was it. It'll be nice to have a break from the open mic thing.
Tonight, I am going to master the Chain CD.
