Brian,
I asked for and received something for Xmas that I think you'll like- David Crosby's 1971 solo album. Imagine The Dead circa American Beauty with a good lead singer. This ain't for everyone- song structures are loose, the mostly acoustic music is pretty in that hazy late 60s California, really mellow cause we really freakin' high, aimless pretty way. Lotsa wordless vocalizing too.
Other musical acquisitions: Going Blank Again by Ride (don't really know them but since I dig Stone Roses and Blur, might like this too), Lou Reed's "American Poet" - a live radio show post-Transformer where Lou rocks out on period songs plus Velvets tunes. I'd heard the bootleg years ago and always liked the uptempo, radiofriendly versions of Sweet Jane, Satellite, etc. Also Harrison's Brainwashed, Al Green's Greatest Hits Vol. 2, and an Ink Spots collection. So far it all sounds pretty good.
