School for the Dead Recent Mailing

Every once in a while I like to print one of our mailings here in case anyone has fallen off of the list or if there is someone new who would like to be on the list. You can sign up just over there to the left. Thanks. Here's the mailing that went out today:

Hello hello hello hello,

Here it is. It is here. The week of A Telephone Built For Two has arrived. Amidst the chaos on Wall Street, the turmoil of war, and the looming frustration of the presidential debates, what can we do to help? We'll release a CD to the world and hope that, like a golden orb of love, it radiates across the world and brings all people together in a Guinness-world-record-breaking group hug of epic proportions.

Or something.

The name of the album is A Telephone Built For Two and it is a celebration of shared moments of clarity. There are elevens songs on it. Many of them you know well from past School for the Dead shows. Some may be new to you. All of them have been lovingly crafted and cleaned and polished and chiseled to be just how they are supposed to be. They are now ready to be presented to the new world.

This Friday we will release this album back to the wild. It's time to let it roam free. We'll open the cage door at The Elevens in Northampton, MA. Here are the details:

Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00 PM (THIS FRIDAY!)
The Elevens
140 Pleasant Street
Northampton, MA 01060
with special guests: Los Hijos Unicos.

Man, we really hope you can make it to this CD Release!! Please spread the word anyway that you can. Tell your friends, send out an email, whatever you can think of. We are trying our best to get a packed house of positive vibes this Friday! If you have any questions or need anything, please let us know.

QUESTION: Is this just an ordinary rock show?

ANSWER: Good Question! No. This is an extra special rock show. Here is why. Since there are just two bands at this event we will have time to play proper concerts for you. We won't be rushed on and off of the stage. School for the Dead plans on taking advantage of this time to bring you some special touches during our performance.

We're planning to display the singing talents of each member of the band. Each of them has chosen a cover song to present. So look for Brian, Tony, and Max to each sing their choice. Ken can't make it to the show.

There will be instant surveys for the audience to fill out which we will then use as fodder for one of our songs.

There will be activity pages.

Candy.

Balloons.

We're even planning on doing some readings / skits from television's past.

So, to sum up. This is not an ordinary rock show.
