St. Patriot's Day 2008

Last Friday, April 4, 2008, School for the Dead played a show. It was at The Elevens in Northampton and we were sandwiched right between Fiesta Brava and The Aloha Steamtrain. Fiesta Brava is a brand new band, this was their first gig. The Aloha Steamtrain is a brand old band, this was their millionth gig. Every year we in The Aloha Steamtrain hold a special celebration concert for our made-up holiday, St. Patriot's Day. This was that day.

Fiesta Brava had a huge crowd of fans and friends who came out to support their first show. The band was hugely optimistic and energetic and excited and they were really good. Nice clean power-pop. Keep an eye out.

School for the Dead played as a four piece. It seems like forever since we've played a full-on full-length set. It was wonderful. We did our middle-of-Soup-Of-The-Moment-Instant-survey-Breakdown. On this survey were two fill-in-the-blanks.

The audience provided some awesome answers. Hooray audience. We also played our newest song, "Turn It Down" again. This was the best time with that. At the end people were singing along with us, "Turn It Down, Turn It Down."

Another bonus was that Ari Vais happened to be in town and we called him up to sing Screen Door for us. It's funny to have someone else sing a song that you wrote. I chimed in on some harmonies.

After School for the Dead, The Aloha Steamtrain played. I was exhausted from the previous set and was not on my best, but it was still a fun show and lots of people came up and danced and kicked balloons all around the place.

Happy St. PAtriot's Day everyone.
