I always (when possible) approach a chair that I'm about to sit in from the left side.
I remember noting that years ago, but realized it again yesterday.
Ooh! The Verve have reunited! They went back in the studio with no songs, but after 5 days of jamming, had 25 songs!
How many times have I read things like this? Is this why a)we (sftd and everyone in the extended family) aren't famous and b) why so many major albums are so lame? and c) why Rub Wrongways albums are all good? (I'm Brian Marchese and I approve that last query)
I mean, ok, so you've not been writing songs the other 360 days of the year. But you're kinda famous. What have you been doing?
I wonder what it'd sound like if we all suppressed a year's worth of ideas and finally got together for a week and jammed?
We wouldn't be friends maybe. And I'd quit. It seems so unnatural.
I like taking orders from songwriters I admire. And then not doing what they told me to do. This is the secret of my success.
PS--The Figments are one day into the new album. 6 basics done last night. No jamming required.
