"you're tardy" "no I'm not, I'm Marchese. Tardy is running late"

Yeah, I know. Keep the home fires burning. Have I held up my side of the bargain? Not until now.

Henning goes south, and that's all I gotta hear to head north. Montreal to be exact. There was a fancy deal on a fancy hotel and that was excuse enough.
In fact, we (marisa and I) were "Regency Club" members which meant we were allowed in this room away from the mere peasants, to enjoy our meals in peace. We also were on the top (12th) floor which was, they say, the special floor.
The room was a nice room. The promised bathrobes never arrived, but there was free wireless.
In the hotel were many people walking around with yellow laminate badges. They were part of the Montreal Film Festival

Though past years have had folks like DeNiro show up, this year, the only name I recognized was Kathy Bates. Which is still way cool.
But we saw no celebrities (lots of international film people) and the closest we came to the festival was when a very inebriated man with a badge came up to us, assuming we were part of the scene. When we said we weren't and he told us "there's free beer in the lounge. Just pretend you're with us..." or something like that, before his friend led him away.
A cool thing was that each night a free film was shown outside--right outside our hotel. But we were usually on our way to or from somewhere to watch them. I spied about 5 minutes each night. But it was sooo crowded.

Another thing going on that we missed was a music festival. Not just any music festival, a totally cool 2-day rock fest on one of the islands, featuring Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Flaming Lips, Joseph Arthur, oh, you take a look here

By the time we caught wind that this going on, it was too late to see any of the good bands the first night, and the good acts of the second day were after we were planning to leave.
Woulda been cool, I think...Would it have been my personal nostalgia show? (why I remember J Mascis with black hair!)

Still, despite what we missed, we saw a lot. We walked and walked some more. Saw groovy shops and rip off shops. Ate good food and lameass food. Drank good wine and watery grossness. Dealt with nice sales people and pushy annoying ones.

And that's that, dude.

Oh, before I left (and Henning) I did vocals for 6 Sitting next to brian songs.
I said to Henning "it's gonna be a weird-ass album". he said "not as weird as the first one".

Take that as you wish.
