Heaters, Changes in Plans, and Birthday Croonings

** I woke up this morning and the temperature was in the 50's. Pretty nice for New England in December huh? The problem was, that was the temperature inside the apartment. The heat ain't working - but word is that it is being repaired today. I hope so.

** Our show in New Bedford last Friday didn't work out exactly as we planned. Ken climbed into the back seat of the car and from one look at him, I could tell he was not feeling well at all. He was gung-ho to go play the show but Brian and I convinced him to stay home and get some sleep. The show mustn't always go on, you know.

Brian and I considered going ahead and doing the show as a two piece, but as I was filling up the tank in the pounding snow for the two and a half hour drive ahead of us, we decided that maybe a two piece wasn't the best way to introduce SFTD to a whole new listening crowd.

I called the Rooftop Suicide Club and they assured us that it was no big deal to cancel and that they wanted to have us come play at a different and possibly better venue very soon. Very nice guys.

** Saturday night was Brian's early birthday celebration with a trip to the Korean Restaurant and the Go Hyang Singing Rooms in Hadley. After a nice casual spicy meal, eight of us crammed into a small singing room and belted our way through 20 or 30 Karaoke songs. Good weird crazy fun.

That was followed by a trip to the Basement where Dennis Crommett's new band was debuting. The place was packed and the band was excellent.

I think Brian had a great time. His real birthday is tomorrow, Tuesday the 6th, so slap him on the back if you see him.
