Song of the Moment

This moment's Song of the Moment is Irving Berlin's "He's A Rag Picker" as performed by the Peerless Quartet in 1915.

This is a new digitization of an original cylinder recording. "The University of California Libraries have created a digital collection of over 5,000 cylinder recordings held by the Department of Special Collections. In an effort to bring these recordings to a wider audience, they can be freely downloaded or streamed online."

My favorite thing about this recording, besides the fact that it's really cool to hear this music that was performed live in 1915, is how many people are singing at once. Here's the MP3 Link. Enjoy.
