Oldies getting hip

1) I heard from the Night Owl
folks yesterday that Peter Tork, of all people, was in Easthampton, being filming scenes for some indie movie. Anyone know any more details on this? I searched his site, but nothing listed except little gigs. But, hey, that's pretty cool.

2) Ken called today with news of the new Neil Diamond album. He heard some of it and had good things to say. I came home to search for it on Rhapsody, Amazon, anything.
No.
You know the only legit place you can stream his album? Myspace.com

You have to wait 'till "Hello Again" stops playing, but you can hear the new Rick Reuben-produced album start to finish.
I'm currently halfway through.
Favorite songs so far: #7 and #8. It's still Neil Diamond--mellow, schmaltzy, but it's organic, understated and human. Stripped down to the essence of 60-something Jew from Brooklyn.
Ken said one of the songs sounds like if the Steamtrain reunited in 20 years.
So far I don't hear a timeless classic, but let's keep listening.

Here's a link to a good Rolling Stone story on him from 30 years ago detailing his drug bust and recording with Robbie Robertson
