The New You is almost one year old. Last year, we released it to the world on Spetember 25. Between now and the upcoming one year anniversary of the album, I am hoping to try to compile all my notes to figure out if we broke even on it.
Each time that I release an album, I always try really hard to keep track of any sales - inevitably, a lot of them get looked over, though. Sometimes in the confusion after a gig, there's no time to really write down what's happening, for example.
All of our online sales are documented and good portion of our gig sales are noted. Do you think we broke even yet? I don't, but I don't know for sure.
(Keep in mind, when I say "broke even" I mean it in a purely scientific monetary way. That's not such an important thing, certainly it won't effect whether we make more albums or not. I'm just curious. Releasing a collection of our songs in any way is already far beyond "breaking even" in any creative, spiritual, or life-affirming way.)
I'm also hoping to begin recording our new album close to the one-year-old date of our last one.
Hey, we should play some shows, huh? I'm playing a solo show tomorrow night at Bishop's Lounge in Northampton, but we should do some band shows. I miss it.
