So, I joined Netflix. I figured I'd take advantange of this soon-to-be-comically-out-dated method of movie distribution just so in a few years I can say, "remember when they actually mailed dvds of movies through the postal service?!"
The first DVD I got was called Singers and Songs, a compilation of performances from the old German music show, Beat Club, and I got it only because in the description it mentioned Harry Nilsson as one of the performers. I had never ever seen Harry Nilsson in moving pictures before.
Last night, at Blondie practice, we took a break and all gathered around the TV to watch. Harry's was the first track on the disc. Unfortunately, he was just lip synching to "Everybody's Talkin'" or as the DVD listed it, "Everybody's Talking About Me".
Harry didn't seem very comfortable as a performer (or a lip-synching pretend performer). It appeared as though he had taken some last minute advice from Davy Jones on how to move. Oh well, those were the times I guess. His little snapping dance moves seemed really forced, all I could do was imagine the director yelling out in his thick german accent. "Harry, dance! Move a little, bitte!".
Still, it was nice seeing this young Harry up on the screen. When I think of Harry Nilsson, I usually picture the older gently bearded troublemaker.
Netflix. I wonder what will show up in the mail next.

Hello Henning, You may remember me from a while back halping a girl named Theresa record some songs to send to a music college.
On the subject of Netflix, I recomend viewing the documentary The Corporation. I don't believe it is available elswhere, but Netflix definately has it.
Congratulations on both the chain cd and other releases. Perhaps I'll be lucky enough to see School For the Dead in the future.
I just emailed Tony on the subject of potentially recording some things... We will be able to pay for your services (in cash if you'd like!). It wouldn't be in the urgent future, but it's a thought. If you'd like to contact me my email is SIEAH@aol.com. (unfortunately i belong to a corporately mastered domain... But I scarcely use the internet...)
Best wishes.
By the way, I also enjoyed the website and Rockumentary.
