Last Night, Last Night, Last Night

Thanks everyone who came out to my solo show last night. It was a nice crowd, not big, but not noisy either, so it all balanced out. It was friendly and welcoming. There were a few surprise people there and a few surprise people who I was expecting but weren't there. Again, it balanced out. Balance. Breathe.

The act that played before me was Mitch Elrod with a member of The Kamikaze Hearts and a member of Knotworking. Mitch Elrod, I think, is a little bit like the Ray Mason of Albany, NY. A somewhat older guy who has these really beautiful songs. At one point they referred to him as the Albany music scene's crazy uncle. It was a really nice performance, smooth and gentle and littered with three part harmonies.

(thanks to Nate for the Photo)

For my show I played, I realized partway through the set, almost all new songs.

Thinking of a Time
Periscope
Save My Place
Waiting For Life
1,000 Times
Campground Daughter
Omnivore
Pirate's Chest
Journal of Lies
Back To School

I think that was it, though it seems like I would've played a few more than that. Hmmm... Anyway, it was nice, I was reminded how much I enjoy playing shows. Now, I'm looking over there at our Upcoming Shows list and I'm seeing that there is nothing listed. What's up with that?
