New Song

So, I've certainly never done this before. And trust me, it feels kind of weird.

Tonight, I came upstairs to my computer to check my email and I noticed that my keyboard was turned on so I started playing it and I instantly started writing this goofy little melody. Half-an-hour later, I had recorded an imromptu demo of it so I wouldn't forget it, complete with lyrics. It's a good thing that my microphone happened to be all set up and plugged in or I might not have bothered.

So, here it is. An MP3 of this brand new little song. It's three tracks, keyboard, melodica, and voice. As you can tell if you listen to it, I just kind of made up the structure, and the melodica parts are certainly ad-libbe. A few of the words are too.

It's a little strange to put this out here for anyone to hear. By the time I see that I wrote this here tomorrow, I probably won't even remember how the song goes, I certainly won't recall how the instant performance sounds - complete with wrong notes and first time singing hesitations and absolutely no effects or second takes etc.

But, what the hell, it's the 90's! The internet has given me the tools to internationally distribute this song to possible millions of people in under an hour from the first keyboard note to the uploaded mp3 file. What am I scared of?
