God and the All Star Game

You know I love the Red Sox. I do obsess and all that. Ask anyone who knows me.
BUT, how does one react when two of the players, Timlin and Clement, express their disappointment over not having made the 2005 All Star team by saying things like "the Lord has a plan" and "God has a reason".
I think someone needs to tell these talented atheltes that
1) Terry Francona, the other players and fans who vote, decide who makes the All Star team. Not God.
2) If there is a Supreme Power, it probably cares not who does and who doesn't make the all star team. If there is a supreme power, hopefully it does care that some of ITS biggest fans are trying to please it by fixing to have a stranglehold on human rights and civil liberties.
