Henning--pretty awesome response to that article. Your songs always seem to mean what they say. I guess some songwriters who subscribe to the Coldplay ethos can say things like "well, they mean something to me". And the 17 year old girl can say "well they mean something to me".
Just say it, if you got something to say. When I was 17, Morrissey said it plain and simple, and we loved him for it.
But like I say in one of my new songs,
"the longer I play dumb, you'll see I really have nothing to say".
Because I don't.
I think I've changed the title of one of my songs to "El Zoomo". It's a reference to Head.
Today I was driving the van in Easthampton and noticed the car in front of me at an intersection had a "My Dear Ella" sticker on it. I wonder who it was? I know that Russ+Amanda put up a bunch of local bands when they went down to Chapel Hill in the last year or two.
In other news, I like to get a Sobe beverage at the end of the day sometimes, especially if I''ve been working 9 hours and still have to deal with a 2 hour practice. I'll get the yellow kind, with energy things in it.
Today I won THREE FREE DOWNLOADS from buymusic.com
They don't seem to have bands like School for the Dead on it, but I 'm sure I can find 3 songs I wanna have. The first one may be "Queer" by Garbage, because I thought of that song the other day, and how much I used to like it.
