On top of that, it was a few hours before the Fountains actually took the stage. Before them was, Ben Kweller, who it turns out looks like a 13 year old. He was pretty good, the teeny-bopper girls LOVED him.
We were freezing. At one point Chris did invite us back to the trailor but warned us that it was extremely full and crowded. We declined, I don't know if that was the right decision or not, but I just didn't feel like standing around in a crowded trailor, with wet umbrellas and pants and all.
Finally FOW took the stage. They sounded really, really, good and the crowd was eating them up. They played their new single and some old previously unreleased songs that'll be on their new release.
About two thirds of the way through their show, we just couldn't take the weather anymore, so we decided to leave. Here came the best part of the concert. After we left the field where they were playing, we had some distance to stroll to get out of Central Park and then we walked along the edge until we came to a subway stop. All of that distance, we could still clearly hear the band.
It was great walking around the park with the music of Fountains of Wayne all around us. There we were in New York and there was Chris' voice singing about New York. It was kind of like a movie. A cold, rainy movie.

Great photo. Nice story. As usual.
I was in NYC the week before. I absolutely love it there, even when all one is surrounded by is the everyday music of the city itself.
