The thing about U2 is that every single song that they put out sounds like the last song ever made. Everyone of them is like the huge encore at the end of a concert.

I saw the movie "Station Agent" this weekend. I really liked it. It had a little bit of a "Straight Story" feel to it, 'cept different. The characters were so good.

What else did I see?

"Kill Bill Vol.2" I liked it better than the first Kill Bill, which did nothing for me. I didn't love it or anything but I enjoyed it.

"Club Dread" This was my second time seeing "Club Dread". I was wrong about its creeper potential. Unlike "Supertroopers", which gets funnier each time you see it, "Club Dread" had a lot of gags that are mostly funny the first time around only. Still, I loved it.

Can't wait for the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" movie to come out. I'm crossing my fingers in hope that they do the books justice. The final Douglas Adams book, which was pieced together post-mortem, discussed the trials that he went through in trying to get the thing onto the screen. It's been many, many years in the making. Unfortunately, he won't be around to see it.

My introduction to the Hitchhiker books occured by complete accident. I was in Germany (every four years or so, my family would go to Europe to visit all of our relatives - there were only the five of us in this country plus one great uncle) staying in the bedroom of a cousin who was away somewhere else. I think I was maybe 12 or 13, and I scanned the book shelf for something to read (probably while listening to Styx on my portable cassette player) and there was one book in english. It had this crazy title so I started reading it. Unfortunately, we were only staying in the house for a couple of days so I got through just the first couple of chapters. But, I loved it. What was this insane book that I found?

Years later, back in the U.S. I found it again somehow. I don't remember how. Either way, the book always had that special feeling to it that you get when you come across something on your own. It feels more like it is yours, you know?

Anyway, I really, really hope that they can make the movie out of it that it deserves. And if it IS good, I'll have three more sequels to look forward to.

Douglas Adams was a good guy. A genius of sorts, who seemed to have a great grasp on the absurdities of the world. He was very tall and large.

Agree strenuously regarding Douglas Adams. I am also waiting, rather hopefully, for the film version. The serialized British TV version was a lot of fun.

Must dash. I've got to fix the Probability Drive on this thing.

Was that a criticsm of U2 or just an observation? I mean, I agree in a sense, but I like the fact that the same four guys have managed to stay together since before most people had computers, never mind the Internet, and they still put out passionate , cinemtaic, near-apocalyptic sounding music that is also vital and not afraid to bleed.

Geo, it was a complimentary observation. I have nothing but admiration for that band. 'Cept for the song "Desire", which is okay...

The hugeness in each song is something that I love about them.
