Hey there, I had a nice time last night at Bishop's Lounge. I had promised myself and everyone else that I would actually start at 9:00, even though I knew that nobody would be there yet. So I did. And I'm glad.

There was a nice little group of folks attending, including our very own Brian and Tony. Yay.

My set was a little strange to me since I was not totally comfortable with any of the songs that I played. Tony wrote down what I played so I'll let him publish that. I'll just note that the age of the songs that I attempted ranged from 16 years old to 16 days old. Also, I played one cover song, The Invisible Cities' "Watertown".

My favorite part of my show was when I was playing "Bees" (a silly little children's song) and three guys walked in. There they were in this room with grown-adults sitting in attention listening to me singing about bees. It didn't seem to faze them at all (to tell you the truth, I don't think a single note of the music even registered with them) but I thought it must have seemed pretty weird. Second favorite part was while play Mark Schwabers second request "Held His Gaze", the room fell very silent and I felt perfectly at ease.

Lesa Bezo played a great set after me (I joined her on electric guitar on a few songs). The people ate her up. She even had some fans from Germany there. She debutted a few new songs including the huge hit "Snow Day".

Matt Hebert was also great. He debutted a few really excellent new songs and played a cover of Sarah MacGlaghlin's "Adia". I had covered that song once myself years ago at an open mic. Love it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get my bands to Chicago.

It was a great night of music and some of us appreictae the punctuality of the sets, even though it would have been worth staying late to see it all.
