It's just after midnight and I am watching and DVD recording an old video tape of a Nightflight exposition on The Art of Noise. It's from a tape I made in 1986. these early videos are so great. Really stupid and home-made and charming. I feel the need to save these on DVD even though I will probably never watch them again.

This one video that is on now, I must have seen a hundred times. You know the one? Art of Noise had a kind of hit at one point and the video had these three guys in suits destroying a piano and other instruments with chainsaws in an abandoned train tunnel (of course) while a little girl dressed all punk runs around with crazy blue make-up on her eyes. Sound familiar?

The song was called "Close to the Edit".

Now they are interviewing the band. They're telling the tale of their record company not wanting to put out the video because it was too violent and gave off a bad message of destroying the past through the classical instruments.
