We played an imromptu show last night at The Basement in Northampton. Our friend, Kelly LaMay was having a birthday and the usual performers for Tuesday night were not available so The Fawns were asked to fill in. We decided to split the night between the Fawns and School for the Dead with SFTD playing first.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere, which was nice. The Basement, for some reason, has the old PA system from the Baystate Hotel and, as I was setting up, I was amazed by the familiarity that my hands felt in operating this long forgotten piece of equipment.
Max was available to join us for this show, which was a treat. I felt securely confident throughout the set. We hadn't played in a long time. I only hesitated on "Back to School" in which I played some wrong chords here and there. Not so's you'd know, though. It was good fun.
Tony had a nice group of friends show up to check him out in his rock band. That was a bonus.
The Fawns hadn't played in a while either and it was a challenge to remember how to make it through each song. For the most part, we did fine.
That's it, I guess. Kind of boring gig entry. Sorry.
