I've been out of the loop for a couple of days since I've been home sick sleeping and watching stupid movies. I'm feeling somewhat better and now we are gearing up for this weekend's big shows (none of which are by School for the Dead).
On Friday, The Fawns are headlining a great night at the Elevens. The show starts with Yellow Brick Ed who will be followed by the wonderful King Radio. King Radio has the most impressive sounding album to ever come out of the valley. It's inspiring and mindboggling. The Fawns can't wait for the show. If you haven't seen us for a while, we have started to become more power pop and less twangle pop.
On Saturday night, The Aloha Steamtrain is having a Reunion / CD Release show. Two of our favorites, Spanish for Hitchhiking and Jose Ayerve, are also on the bill. So, yes, that means that School for the Dead members Henning, Brian, and Max will be on the Elevens stage two nights in a row. You should come to both shows, it's like a mini music festival.
The Steamtrain just got some nice press from George Lenker in the Republican. Here's a link to the online version: Aloha Steamtrain Slates Reunion. I'm told the print version, in the Weekend Section of today's paper, features a cool picture, too.
Also, The Steamtrain will be on WRNX tomorrow afternoon from like 4 to 6 or something. I don't know exactly, but we'll be playing on and off during Donnie's Used Cars.
