The Living Rockumentary

So I treated myseld to a big purchase--a Rio Karma 20Gb MP3 player. Weird thing is, at first I couldn't even fit ONE CD into it. Then I got smart and ground up a CD in the blender and poured the bits into the earphone jack. Phew. 208 CDs to go.
Seriously, it will soon replace my cat as my best friend.

So I happened to listen to a bunch of Howard Stern today--Clear Channel has taken him off all their stations--which is 6 major cities. But the Hartford station is independent, so he's still on locally.
It makes for great radio when they're not just trying to be lewd. Today it was basically the core people talking about all this--with inevitable humor. And Stern, who scared me post 9/11 with his jingoism, has now let loose with no reservations, how much he hates everything about this administration.
(i.e. alienating the gay community and a large portion of radio listeners in one week)

OK, now feeling paranoid about my positive feelings towards Stern, I'll have you know that I also got my WAMC gifts for contributing $$ to Albany public radio! An atlas, an ice scraper and a free car wash in Albany. Can we book a show in Albany again so I have an excuse to get a free car wash?

And I'll stop with popular current topics. They get stale quickly. Hey, I'm just a guy listening to radio all day in da truck.
