Good thing there is someone out there who has the ability to write something approaching a "good" gig diary for our show at The Space on Friday. Someone who will create something with a little more ambition than the half-hearted musings of Brian and myself. Chris over on the Space's own blog had this to say about us in particular in the midst of a long, detailed, and entertaining piece about their whole day of festivities:
"The voice of School For The Dead's Henning gave out fairly early in their set, forcing them to change up on the fly. They flew through their set, the vibe of the night forcing them to stick to their pep-filled numbers in order to compete with the walls of noise being thrown around. Apologies to Brian for hiding our drumset from him. He's so good a drummer we thought he did it all with his mind.
Henning gifted me with one of the School's neat new tees (their new album is nearing release, so new merch), which I was very thankful for. This means I can go at least two days without doing laundry. Three if I lock myself inside for the rest of the weekend.
Also, and this is surely an awkward observation, but I realized last night that all the members of School For The Dead could easily comprise a living timeline of boyfriends. As if some mysterious woman out there, with a taste for power-poppers, had broken each and every one of their hearts in the span of the last 10-15 years. Their subconscious response to this being, of course, to form a power pop band. Catch their next gig and tell me I'm wrong."
Can someone smarter than me explain that last paragraph?
