The big event this week is the Beatles Tribute at the Academy of Music here in Northampton. It's on Sunday at 2:00 and is a fund raiser for the Northampton Arts Council. A bunch of local bands will be doing short sets, each one taking on one Beatles album. We will be doing Revolver with Philip Price singing lead.
Practice last night was great. Everything really seemed to 'come together'. Ken brought over Philip's fancy shmancy keyboard and it sounded great, it was the missing ingredient in She Said, She Said and he can now double up on piano and harpsichord for For No One, which sounds amazing. Tony and Ken were singing some sublime harmonies and I just need to learn the words to She Said. I think we will do a good job. Needless to say, Brian and Max played everything perfectly and Philip, of course, nailed all the vocals.
Unfortunately, I don't have a list of who will be performing what at the Beatles show, but off the top of my head, I can remember that there will be performances by Lo Fine, Fancy Trash, Treefort, Lonesome Brothers, Drunk Stuntmen, and the Growers. It's gonna be a really excellent show, says me.
